You're too late.

Apparently Clubhouse are closing the doors to new entrants.

If you’re not on there yet, you never will be.

You will forever be on the outside.

Sorry mate, you can’t come in.
Your name’s not down.
Wrong trainers.
Bad smell.
Wrong phone.

Ok, they’re not really.

When we’re stuck in the very short term, in the immediate, the unimportant can seem important.

I need to get into / onto ‘the Clubhouse’.

I need more clients. Now.

I need to fix this / grow that / delete as appropriate.

But there is very little we can do about the short term.

What’s going to happen in the short term will likely happen anyway.

Worrying about the short term is compelling. But ultimately futile. What’s going to happen will likely happen irrespective of the work you do, the calls you make, how hard you try.

What’s important is the medium term.

Focus instead on the things important for the medium term, like;

- being useful
- clear intention
- being in touch (with the most important people)
- doing good work, reliably.
- connecting people
- helping out

…and trust that the short term will take care of itself.

Because, one way or another, it does.
