A Paradox Useful Today

In the midst of a big (or little) negotiation, perspective is important.

It's super easy to be distracted by the immediate, the fears, the hopes, the stresses. These distractions can be painful, confusing and blinding.

But when we take a moment to pause, to connect with something more longer term, when we connect with the goals we have for a year or two or five or ten, we get, by way of return, some perspective.

Its in this perspective that we can make better decisions; decisions which make the negotiation today better and more effective.
