Network Investment

We are greater than the sum of our parts.

Trees, we now know, talk to each other. Ok, not talk like we talk, but are connected. They share food, nutrients. They look out for each other. Trees are greater than the sum of the parts.

This must surely be true for all our nature.

Messages fizzing back and forth, here and there. Feedback loops telling us, telling each “this is good”. “This is bad”.

We are as strong as our networks. And I don’t mean Linkedin and Facebook, I mean the people we live with, play with. Individuals we work with, companies we work with, who we sell to, who buy from us. Everyday. The stronger our network, the stronger our system.

In such a world, deliberately feeding our systems, our networks, with positive acts of support and generosity would become incremental investments in our networks, investments which make our networks stronger.
